Knight Frank global web rebrand

Knight Frank

Technologies used:

  • XHTML
  • CSS
  • AJAX (JSON)
  • Fireworks
  • Visual Studio 2008

Project background:

During the process of drawing up the online brand guidelines with the marketing department, I needed to communicate how the different sections of the website design would behave to non-technically minded people.

Once the designs were signed off and finalized, I faced a challenging task of creating the HTML templates for the external offices around the world. The challenge was to do this in a way that would allow Knight Frank HQ to add elements(on a global scale) to all the international websites, but also keep the code clean and simple enough that people with minimal web experience could still use them to create the website.

Technologies used:

  • XHTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • AJAX (XML/JSON)
  • Mootools
  • Fireworks
  • Photoshop
  • Visual Studio 2008 / 2010

Project background:

During the design process of the Global Search project, I used my experience with client side scripting languages to identify and resolve any technical issues that may have arisen during the development stages. This included tweaking the designs to portray a more streamline, smoother user experience while browsing the site.

There were a few occasions during the development stage where writing additional Mootools add-ons was needed. A prime example of custom Mootools that I wrote for this project would be the ‘Gallery Carousel’ found on the home page and a smoother carousel(which could be created using AJAX) found on the search results pages.
